1. Carrying a plastic bag around on the roof results in three things. A torn bag and leaves dumped all over the roof, or a really heavy bag to carry down the ladder, or a heavy plastic bag that bursts open when you drop it down from the roof!
2. We used to use the customers hose to check the downspouts, but most people have their water turned off so the lines won’t freeze. Plus when temperatures are close to freezing the spray from the hoses will freeze on our ladders and on the roof, which causes a safety concern.
3. Using the blowers is faster, so it keeps the prices down. Plus we can clear debris from the roofs, and blow the roof off before walking on it, so the techs don’t step on leaves and slip.
So that’s why we started using high powered blowers to clean them out about 15 years ago. But don’t worry about clogged downspouts. All of the techs shoot air down the downspouts to make sure they are clear, and we rarely have a problem. Plus all gutter cleaning jobs are guaranteed for 30 days, so if you have any problems with clogged downspouts, all you have to do is call our office and we will have someone come back out and check them for free.
